Originally called 'Lie', I wrote this when I was about 18 to perform with my first 'proper' band and, as you can hear, I didn't spend that much time on the sounds in this arrangement. It was really only to take along to practice and use as a guide. The drum pattern is a copycat of a lot of the indie disco around at the time, which I think makes this 2004, maybe?

After the band finished, I was tasked with re-writing the chorus and the drums were completely altered to make it sound more electronic. It was renamed 'Haunted Gold' to distinguish the song from the previous version and I bought up all of the gold glitter in the stationery shop near my workplace in Southsea to make the animated video.

I still find flecks of it everywhere.
